Institution Velenje Literary Foundation (UVKF) is a non-profit cultural institution in public interest, which has been founded in 2001 by Municipality Velenje upon suggestion by author Ivo Stropnik.

The mission of Institution Velenje Literary Foundation (UVKF) is offering moral, (co)organizational and expert support with preservation, development and increase of literary culture in Velenje area and beyond, also by encouraging sponsorship and other forms of supporting foundation's activities in the area of local studies, research, art, language and culture and other literary content, which have authorial, objective, performative, editorial-publishing, educational, promotional and other (inter)cultural basis or connection.

UVKF carries out institutional activities in the areas of books, literary and language culture.

UVKF cooperates with Slovenian and foreign authors, translators, associations, festivals, journals, publishers, libraries, bookstores, regional and local cultural contractors, sponsors and others.
